K2H Wind Technology
I was approached in 2014 to develop an application that would report telemetry data generated by K2H wind turbines to the cloud. We eventually expanded the application to include diagnostic tools and remote operation procedures.
Efficiency is extremely important in renewable energy technology. The client required a way to monitor their wind turbines in real-time and coordinate multiple departments to maintain optimal performance. I was tasked with developing an application that would run on hardware installed in the wind turbine, server-side APIs that would process the data and requests, and a front-end application that would present the data and serve as a remote interface for turbines.
Security was very important so Microsoft Azure was selected as the cloud PaaS and multiple security checks were implemented to reduce the threat of cyber attacks.
